Welcome to our stop on the Not-So-Secret Blog Tour. I hope you enjoy the review I put together for you!
First a quick recap of Tunuftol’s Fortress of Light, the first book in Ann Snizek’s wonderful series Tunuftol.
Tunuftol’s Fortress of Light:
Krissa and her baby brother Micah find themselves changing foster home- again. For the twelfth time in six years. Only this time it’s different. Arriving at Grandma Athay’s, everything changes. Krissa discovers she is The Chosen One, with powers beyond her imagination. But chosen for what? And why do their neighbors seems so familiar?
A long time ago, there was a coup against the Royal Family. The ones who survived and
their supporters had to flee from their homes and escaped to… our world. To survive and fight back another day. Krissa and Micah’s parents were among them.
Now the chosen have been found, the Royal Family (Khevin and Pin) with friends will have to travel back home to free the Tunuftolates from the Evil Fraction that has taken over their country. On their journey they will learn more about their powers, friendship, what a choice can do and what a name really means.
Secret of the Shielded:
Oh boy, where to start? I have been staring at the computer screen for days, trying to figure out exactly what to put into this review. It’s not I don’t know what to say about the book, but I’ll have to be careful. I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone.
Sighs.
Well, there’s no way around it. If I start rambling, please excuse me, but sometimes when I really like a book, it becomes harder for me to write the review because I don’t feel like I can do it justice.
Khevin and his sister have reclaimed the throne, but they need help from their friends yet again, not only to keep the throne, but to remove a threat to them all. They need to find the Secret, so barely a month after they came back home, they’re all on the move again.
This book is filled with surprises, new names and powers, tragedy, pain, joy, secrets (good and bad) and love. I couldn’t put it down. My Hubby kept glaring at me while I sat with the computer absorbing each and every word as fast as I could read. At one point he even asked me what I was reading. (Me looking up bewildered from the computer) “Sorry Honey, did you say something?”
We get to meet old loved characters; Khevin, Pin, Lonnie, Nester, Alcina, Sealey, Daisy Mae, Micah and Krissa of course. Not to mention the wonderful Tunuftolates; Reza and Philetus.
But it doesn’t stop there – oh no. Prepare yourself to meet new magical creatures and birds, new powers and we’re even so lucky we get a chance to see one of the Tunuftolates settlements! (I’m quite envious of that actually.)
I enjoyed Tunuftol’s Fortress of Light immensely. This… This book was even better part of because you can see how much Ann has developed as a writer since the first book and you can feel how much more she knows her characters and the world she created just keeps growing and growing and I found myself getting utterly lost in it. It’s a wonderful and beautiful read and in reality I never wanted it to end.
Here in the end I want to give a little snippet from the book. Something that will keep you wondering and perhaps even wanting to know what happens.
Krissa is dreaming when she hears the Philo birds sing this song:
Twelve companions all will travel
Eleven this poem try to unravel
Ten don’t know which is the way
Nine are going to have to pay
Eight are wondering what they will find
Seven speak with mouth and mind
Six shall get a brand new name
Five will never be the same
Four the enemy will take
Three have choices they must make
Two have powers they must use
Or, One friend in death will lose.
And last: Thank you Ann for the absolutely amazing world you have created. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait to read The Jewel of Nirel, the third book in the Tunuftol series.
